I wanted to learn cultural and heritage landscape of Sysmä. It turned out that there is a lot more than just spectacular treasures. The continuity of habitation of the area and wide types of founds, also those less impressive was enormous. The research phase turned out to be the hardest art of the idea generation phase of the project. There is very little information published about archaeological finds. A lot of archaeological finds were not published on internet and there were no photographs of some types of artifacts. In the end it was very satisfying journey. Creating a research before making proper design of the game or even Game Design document is crucial for how the game will look, work and what educational values it will have.
